Did you know you can video conference to your TV without actually buying another webcam for your TV? Or buy a special device just to video conference? You can FaceTime with your Apple TV or Skype to your Apple TV. This makes group video conference a thing of the past. The good thing about this is that you don’t need an expensive device dedicated just for this. You can get yourself a cheap iPod Touch 8 Gigabyte for the office, or your own iPad 2 or the new iPad.
With Apple TV turned on and on the same Wi-Fi Network as your iPod Touch or an iPad with front facing camera on iOS 5 or above. You can either use Skype or FaceTime for this. But before you can see anything on your Apple TV, be sure to turn on Mirroring to “ON”.
Select your Apple TV name, and then Enable Mirroring.
On the iPod Touch 4 and iPhone 4/S:
Double Click Home Button, and when the task open up from the bottom, scroll right twice and you will see the Up Arrow like the icon above.
Select your Apple TV name and Enable Mirroring.
After Mirroring is Enabled, you will see what you are displaying from your iPad or iPhone 4/S or iPod Touch 4. Now take a pick on which app you want to video conference with. To FaceTime with your iPad or iPod Touch 4, open the FaceTime app and select your party to video conference with. It’s a bit different on the iPhone 4/S to FaceTime. You need to go to the Contacts and select the name of the person you wish to FaceTime with and go down to the bottom and select FaceTime.
