iOS 6 Beta 3 Review for iPhone 4S, new iPad and iPad 2

Update: Updated the new iPad and iPhone 4S to Beta 3. Bugs finding still pending.

Update: iOS 6 Beta 2 installed in New iPad (iPad 3rd Generation), iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

Bug reports and review of iOS 6 will be updated here as I go. I installed this on my spare iPad 2 WiFi+3G instead of the new iPad. So far I love the iOS 6. It has Facebook and Twitter integration now. I have some screenshots below, and some bugs reports if I find any. Since this is installed on an iPad 2, I won’t be able to test Siri on it, not until I find iOS 6 to be worth the upgrade for my iPad 3rd Gen bug free.

Initially I installed this on the iPad 2 only, but now I have it installed on my iPad 3rd Generation, and iPhone 4S. This will enable me to test the functionality of Cloud Bookmarking across my MacBook Air with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 and my other iOS devices on iOS 6. By testing across my iOS Devices, I can also test my Photo Stream Sharing in iOS 6 and check back with you guys.

There is also a Do Not Disturb On and Off button under Settings. Which is convenient instead of muting it or put it in an Airplane mode to stop those annoying Notification sound. Privacy Settings is separated now under settings. You can set your Privacy for Location Services either ON or OFF in just one click.

The Photo app now has icons when you are to share your pictures either via Email, Facebook, Twitter, and more.

The App Store has been redesign too. I’ll do screen shots as I find them as I go. When you just download an app, there is a “NEW” blue ribbon across the icon stating that it has just been downloaded.

The Maps has also been updated and the 3D is not just 3D Buildings as I thought it would be, but the terrain as well is in 3D. To see the 3D, set your maps to Hybrid or Satellite mode, it will look better than in Standard mode.

If you do a search of Starbucks using Maps, clicking the “i” button will reveal pictures of the store. If you do a Direction of where you are to Starbucks, the description of what is next is big. You can click on the next route by clicking on the big green direction or you can let it do it automatically.

I will update more later, even when there is a new Preview Built, so far, Preview 1 is pretty good. I’m sure there are many bugs which I will post here. Enjoy the screen shots.

Bugs for iOS 6 Beta 1

Rotating to Landscape mode while downloading an app in Portrait Mode will result in indecisive rotation of the Home Screen. Just like the image above.

Turn-by-Turn Navigation has no voice navigation on the iPad 2 out of the U.S Country.

Siri works great on the new iPad (3rd Gen) but will not be able to Search for places out of the U.S Country.

3D Maps is buggy on iPad 2, it crashes more often than not, more stable on the iPad 3 and iPhone 4S.

Cloud Bookmarking works wonderful, but when you have more than 8 tabs open, Safari will crash when you are trying to open the 9th and beyond.

Photo Stream Sharing works, but it may takes hours before you can see the shared photos. In order for you to do this across platform, you have to register your other iOS devices with Apple to get a unique Apple ID for individual iOS device.

iOS 6 Beta 2 Bug Reports:

Might be a bug: LED Flash still turns on when there’s a notification even in sleep mode.

Bugs for Beta 2 Continue for July 11th, 2012

iPhone 4S: There are some occasion, intermittently, when listening to Music that the landscape mode would get stuck while displaying the list of the song rather than Thumbnails. Trying to get a screen shot to display the bug.

new iPad: Trying to turn off the iPad will instead restart itself. No way of shutting down the new iPad. It would also would turn off by itself and would not turn on until I press on both the power and home button.
