This site has been since 1996, September 28th. It’s been so long that I have forgotten it’s birthday. So I would like to give a little history about powercx.com. For those who visits this site, I Thank you. Although this site isn’t what it was before, it was more for business purposes. Back in 1996, a year after I graduated from High School, and I thought having a website domain name would be cool. I thought about it then and it would make sense to have a purpose, so my High School friend and I thought of the name to make it so. The intended business was to be an ISP, Internet Service Provider.
We had the tools and the funds to start it, where I was to be the business person while my friend would be the technical aspect of the business. We called it powercx.com because it was short for Connected with Power. We didn’t quiet go where it should have been, instead, we went on as a Graphics Designer for ISPs and we thought, it’s a good start, that way we know what our competitors are like. Of course, back then, there was a whole bunch of ISPs and the competition was fierce. We continued with the Graphics Design, then on to be Web Designing for ISPs, then I got bored, went on vacation for 6 months to Europe and South East Asia and came back and went to a College for Multimedia while at the same time, I added another person to the team, however, it wasn’t for Powercx.com.
We changed name, but kept powercx.com domain name, and from there, we went on as planned. We got our own T1 Backbone in Newport Beach, Los Angeles area, rent an office space and as well as an office space in San Francisco. We continued with the plan as an ISP until the dot com bust. We went with it, and all three of us since then moved our own way on a different path.
From 2000 till now, the powercx.com had different phase of changes, and not until 2001 where I was exploring forums and blogs. I started with a whole bunch until I found a good one and stick with it, and that was with Mambo. I kept on using Mambo until Joomla came out and I switched to Joomla. At this point I was into Software Engineering again, I was interested in PHP Programming, whereas in High School I was into C++. So I played with it just for fun, micro blogging here and there about what I found. But I wasn’t serious about keeping my writing, most of my writing is about the things I found that was interesting to me that I should read about, like readitlater, but I kept it on my site as a reference. When WordPress came out in 2003, I started to become more serious, and actually like community behind WordPress. So in 2004, a year after I explore WordPress, I started to blog, not micro-blog, and since then I have been using WordPress as my main blog site tool.
So there it is, nothing too exciting about powercx.com. Hopefully it will continue on for 15 more years. Thanks for those who visits this site where it started just for giggles.

The minute I wake up, I take my Bold off my cradle then check my e-mail. Take my Nokia N97 off the charger. Take my iPod Touch off the cradle from charging and the first thing I do with the iPod Touch is sync my RSS Feed via WiFi. Take my Tablet PC off the charger and slip it into my TUMI Backpack. Then I take my Kindle into the sleeve, hardly had to charge it since it will last months before Kindle needs charging again, and I put the Kindle in my backpack.
I go downstairs to turn on my EEE 900 before I do everything else since it takes forever to load on XP with 900Mhz Celeron Processor. I turn it on for my Father-In-Law, so he doesn’t have to wait to load when he wakes up. Drink my Coffee and off I go.
In the car, I turn On my Tekkeon Battery for my Cradlepoint that is attached to my USB Modem connected to the internet with CDMA Technology, so I can surf the internet in the car. I switch on Shoutcast on my iPod Touch and listen to the radio from there. I turn on my Nokia N97 for GPS Navigation, since it’s the only device that has Indonesian Maps and is pretty accurate at navigating. It even tells me where to go with voice, not like Google Maps. I use it offline, so it’s not connected to the Internet just to save battery. Sometimes, when there’s something going on, like an accident, I turn on QIK on my Nokia N97 and start streaming some videos. Since there’s traffic in Jakarta, I would call around with Fring and just do Video Call to my Family just to show off the traffic and surroundings. Or sometimes I would read up on my RSS Feeds off my iPod Touch just to catch up on some news.
When I get to the office, I go to Feedbooks.com and sync my RSS News to my Kindle so I can read it off-line. Then I take my Tablet PC out of my backpack and charge it at work. I turn off my Cradlepoint, turn on my Desktop PC at work and that’s it. What’s your routine daily?

I expect people that works in the Electronic store to know their TV hardware information. A few places I asked about their LCD TV if it’s LED, and I got an answer that it’s not LED, it’s LCD. All LED Tv’s are LCD. A few times I had to let them know, LED is the backlighting technology that has been out since 2004 by Sony in their Bravia TV lines. Of course there are EDGE LED Lit or Full Back Body LED Lit. EDGE LED Lit is cheaper.
Sure it’s marketing strategy by Samsung to call it LED TV, which is a smart move, it got people confused, but it does sound good. Who wants an old technology when they can get an LED TV? Continue reading »

Just my thoughts
Adjustments to your car:
1. Your weight matters. The heavier you are, the more gas it will intake.
2. Stuff in your Trunk. Take it out if you don’t need it, except the spare tire, and maybe your sub-woofer.
3. The right tire pressure is essential. If you are low in pressure, your car feels heavier, thus guzzle more gas. Just likes as if you ride your bike with a low pressure tire, you work harder, you get tired faster.
4. Replace all your fenders and doors with carbon fiber material. Carbon fiber material is lighter than steel but 3x stronger than steel. It’s also very expensive.
5. You can always try those gimmicks in commercials on how so and so device can make you save 50% or 300% more gas. But really its not the point of this post is it?
Those first three is what I do daily, check on tire pressure, taking stuff out of the trunk and to the garage, and constantly, try to loose body weight.
The fourth, is if you are a car enthusiast and would like to do it just for fun and money to blow.
The fifth, well, that’s really a joke, unless if you tried something add-on that works, then please post here.

I put the Cradlepoint CTR-500 and Socket portable usb battery into a bag and powered it up. I attached the phone to the usb of the Cradlepoint and the 7dBi Antenna to the MC Connector of the Cradlepoint, voila. I have 7 hours of continuous wifi to bring anywhere with me with a range of minimum 3/4 mile in radius.
Quiet useful if you are no where near your car just to have a wireless connection.

I installed the Alpine ex-10 in my Volvo SUV and after close to 6 months of having it, it is very nice. If it’s not for the FM Transmitter bad quality of sound, it would be more than nice. It would be perfect. One of the reason why I liked it so much is because of the Bluetooth Streaming paired to my Blackberry. It has a built-in speaker phone so I can accept calls through the speakers through Bluetooth.
My iPod connects easily with it with the included cable. Just recently the system had a hiccup and I had to call support for the problem I was having. For some reason it got stuck. Whatever the reason was, I had to reset the Alpine EX-10 so it would recognize my ipod again.
The procedure is as follow if you need to do the same.
Hard Reset the device will reset everything back to it’s original states. But what do you do if it gets stuck?
Here’s the procedure:
Turn ON the device.
When you see the Alpine logo
Click on Source button for 3 seconds.
When Blue Screen is on the screen,
Release Source Button
And click on View button 2 times.
That’s all.
