Whenever you plug your iPad to your PC or Mac, you noticed the time it took to backup the iPad could be hours? At first I thought it’s because I pretty much filled up my 64Gb iPad. Well, that’s not the case.
Some people had their luck fixed by using the original USB cable that came with their iPad, some didn’t. Check out the link. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2391299&tstart=0. If you are one of those that got that good luck, well, it shouldn’t take you longer than three minutes with the original USB Cable, even if you filled that 64Gb iPad of yours.
Just incase you are wondering what kind of cable came with the iPad since, who knows, maybe you happen to have the old iPod’s and iPod Touch and iPhones and you have those cables laying around or maybe you have an aftermarket cable laying around?
I have all those cables, one from aftermarket that is stubby and long, or the original iPod Classic cable that is thin but has a longer head, and even those iPod Touch 2nd and 3rd Gen cable looks the same as the iPad Original Cable. Well, as long as the cable is the thin and has short head (I’ll take a picture of it soon), it should be compatible. Even the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3rd Gen cable is compatible with iPad and vice versa.
If you want to try the cables you have one by one, you can. Plug it in and make sure the backup doesn’t take longer than three minutes. If it does, hit the Eject Button and try again until you find the right one. Who knows, those 3rd party USB Cable might work.
